[first of all, whoever takes the time to read this, thank you. Even though it’s probably gonna end up long, I promise it’ll be worth your time. & if you don’t think so, stop reading at any time :) ]


Hmm.. where do I even begin?!
I don’t think I can stress enough how amazing this year has been for me. The good times. The bad times. Both have made this year possibly the best year I could have ever asked for…

January
At the end of 2008, I just somehow knew that this year was going to be different. How? I had no idea. My new year began with a HUGE bang when I received an email from a man named Vlad on January 11 [i could never ever forget the date]. I was in bed, it was around 2am, i believe. On my iPod, I just decided to check my email [& at the time, i NEVER EVER checked my email]. There sat an email with the title “Sasha Vujacic” my initial reaction was to ask my sister, “did you send me an email???” [even though the address was not even of my sister’s] I anxiously opened the email. There it was. It was the beginning of the experience of a lifetime! This is when I was first asked to be a part of SashaVujacic18.com. The next morning, I received a phone call from the same man asking me if I could meet him for an interview. So I rushed to the meeting place and that’s when everything became official.
I don’t really know how this happened or why, but I DO know that it has been one of the best experiences EVER. It has opened so many doors for me & lead to several opportunities that I thought would never come. This is definitely something I have ALWAYS dreamed of for myself & who would’ve thought that it would come so soon and better yet, so easily?
I find it kind of funny that I end up working for one of my favorite Lakers especially because when in high school, the nickname a friend of mind gave me was “Vujacic”. Never thought it would lead to this!

In the months that followed, everything I have experienced because of this job, from working signings, having dinner meetings, or going to games, have been just an absolute DREAM. I love it! It’s so much fun and the people I have gotten to know because of this have only enhanced my life, in my opinion. Meeting new friends along the way is definitely even better!
Actually, to this day, I don’t really know if I still believe this is all happening. & if I am dreaming, I sure hope I never wake up…

June
LAKERS WIN THEIR 15TH CHAMPIONSHIP! :] (yes, it is a huge part of my life. haha.) WOW. Whatta feeling to experience another championship in Los Angeles! I went to the Lakers parade in downtown LA with Chris, a friend of mine at the Coliseum. That was pretty insane. I think I remember leaving the house at 6am? Not really sure, but getting there at 7am to wait outside the venue and try to get some good seats. Well, by 9am, we were let in & well, at least we were able to get some seats? haha. Man, there were over 90,000 people there! But it was all worth the sun burns and waiting to see my boys walk down those steps as the NBA Champions! Pssst, in 2010, we’re going for another one ;]

Also in June, after the parade, we took a trip to Las Vegas! Nothing really amazing happened though. haha. But on our last day there, as I was eating lunch at the Wynn Buffet, I randomly walked by Phoenix Suns’ Amare Stoudemire’s table. Yeah, my jaw dropped to the floor. LOL. I respect his basketball skills and have pretty much always wanted to meet him - but etiquette says not to bother people [esp celebrities] while they’re eating. haha. So I waited. Good thing our table was near! haha. When he stood, my family & I approached him as he was walking out. Scared of rejection, I timidly asked for a photo, and fortunately, he was very sweet! He kindly said yes & asked us to follow him on Twitter. haha. Great experience! :] Thanks Amare! <3

Michael Jackson dies - :( WOW. I don’t think I have ever been affected by a celebrity death as much as this one. Michael was INCREDIBLE & there will never be another. His music is just absolutely inspiring. I tried to get tickets to his memorial down at the Staples Center, but it was a fail. Watching that memorial was heartbreaking.

July
We go BACK to Vegas. lol. This time, it was for a concert that my mom & Jonathan Badon were supposed to attend. But lucky for me, it was TEAM USA TRAINING CAAAAAMP! haha. :] So that definitely gave me something to do while my mom and Jonathan were out on meetings and promotions. :] Staying at the same hotel too! ;] I pretty much met everyone I wanted to & EVERY SINGLE ONE was super sweet. NBA Players I met: Kyle Korver, OJ Mayo, Ronnie Brewer, Deron Williams, Paul Milsap, Kevin Durant, Nate Robinson, Rudy Gay, Andre Iguodala, Russell Westbrook, and some others… great experience! :]

I DO NOT THINK AUGUST COULD HAVE BEEN ANY BETTER FOR ME.
first: my cousin from London came after the LONGEST time. He’s basically the older brother I never had & we always have a blast whenever we’re together. So much fun, it’s stupid. hahah! <3 It always brings us back to the time when we were kids. We’re actually still stuck at around 10 yrs old. We went to San Fransisco for a few days & back. He had his birthday in San Fran too. Too bad he could only stay for 2 weeks - so hopefully he can come back soon. *ahem* haha. He left August 14th.

August 18 was probably one of the turning points in my life. At around 2am, i think, a friend of mine sent me an AIM chat with a link to a chatroom. He said, “hey! get in there! Ron Artest is live!” & just a few hours ago, I watched Andre Iguodala’s live stream - I even tried to ask for his shoes for my birthday. haha! But anyway, I entered the room not knowing it was a VIDEO CHAT. WOW. haha. I was in my PAJAMAS & my hair was ALL OVER THE PLACE. NO ONE. I REPEAT. NO ONE. EVER SEES MY LIKE THAT! Well, now, Ron Artest & a few fans have. hahaha. That night probably changed the direction my life was going yet again… whoa.

August 20 my friend and I had our birthday. We did yet another video chat with Ron. Ron somehow ended up singing Happy Birthday to me. highlight of the day for sure! or well, i thought. My aunt from the Philippines was here to celebrate my birthday with me. After the video chat, we set out to have lunch at Jerry’s Deli at the Del Amo Mall then got an ice cream cake at Cold Stone and later, take out dinner from a chinese restaurant. AGAIN I was invited to another video chat with Ron and several other fans… followed by a phone call from Ron. too much to handle for a night? you’d think! It was one of those, “IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?!” thing. lol. That night, my aunt took off to go back home to the Philippines so we dropped her off at the airport around midnight, i think.
My birthday party was on August 28th - it was suuuch a small party, no more than 20 people. oh, that was the birthday party that I’ll never forget. whew!! :D
I think most of you know what happens after this just by going through my photo documentation of the events that included Ron Ron… & if you don’t, you can see for yourself. :] Every story would take an eternity to tell.
& just to sum it all up into “words” - this is how we break it down: Halo Halo, my little pony, ESPN, My Heart will go On, ‘pass it to Kobe’, ‘you just reworded it:)’, two touch, Sparks, Squished Range Rover, 3:45am, birthday, Panceet, Garlic Chicken, ruffles… [there may be more. lol]

Jarrett
I met this 4 year old little boy named Jarrett. He is the little boy in this YouTube video [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wDgJ3AjLbw] I interviewed his father, Eric about him and Jarrett’s situation with dealing with eczema. & you know what, I am SOOO glad I found this little boy. Not only was I very happy to help him in attaining Sasha Vujacic as an official spokesperson for the National Eczema Association, but I found a new friend. This little boy is AMAZING. Not only is he amazingly smart, but he also shares the same interests as me! THE LAKERS! :] haha. I hope I can help him more!



Just an overall successful personal year for myself is all I could ever ask for. This year was definitely not all good, but the challenges and obstacles I faced throughout the year has definitely made me stronger as an individual. Everything has become a learning experience to help me gain more knowledge to help me succeed in the future. The inspirations I attained have driven me to become even better as a person. The people I have met this year have definitely played a huge role in that - but not just the people that I just met but also the people who have been there my entire life; sticking by me whenever I needed a place to lean, being a shoulder to cry on and a source of confidence. My family has definitely been the main source of keeping me sane somehow. And not to forget to mention my faith. I believe that somehow, somewhere, God has this life planned out for me. And that everything that comes my way happens for a reason - whether it makes me happy or sad. All of this, whether you believe it or not, I believe is given to me by God. Whether it be to test me, challenge me, make me happy, make me stronger, make me better…

Although I’m sorta sad to see this year of 2009 end, I am excited to see the new challenges and surprises 2010 has in store for me and even my family. And even though I don’t know what’s going to happen, I DO know that it can only get better with the right amount of faith and the hard work required to achieve those new rewards…
